I had a lot of trouble getting WPA working with my wireless router (Netgear DG83G) and Slackware...
I have a RT2500 in my laptop and it flat-out refused to connect when I enabled WPA.
But I set a WEP key and that worked after a little bit of persuasion...
I found it worked if I did this:
Code:
ifconfig ra0 down
ifconfig ra0 up
iwconfig ra0 key restricted
iwconfig ra0 key WEP_KEY_HERE (in hex e.g. AE172D6CE6)
iwconfig ra0 essid any
iwconfig ra0 channel 11
iwconfig ra0 rate auto
dhcpcd ra0
ra0 is of course my network adapter
and you have to be root of course...
That may or may not work on suse I don't know... just my experience with wireless networking and how much of a pain it can be.
