Thanks for suggestion, didn't help. when I run iwconfig it tells me that I have no wireless cards [which I do], and the drivers at wftrac are for a different card than what ACER uses???

KDE in 10.1 should have an app called knetworks, and it should load in your system tray. It should show all broadcasting wifi networks.

Is this not the case?

You may need to go into the YAST manager and set up the wifi card under the network pref pane.

Did you go to the ndiswrapper wiki and follow the instructions to install ndiswrapper on suse 9.2?? They work on 10.1 also. I got it running on SLED 10.

what wifi card is in this machine? I can only assume its intel?

I have a 2200BG card that works natively (no driver needed to be installed) in SUSE 10.1

Thanks for suggestions to all but to no luck. When I try and scan for a wireless it says none there, if I do a "iwconfig" it says that there is nothing there, when I do a check for wireless networks with "kinternet" it says none there....but there is as I am using it right now but it is on the XP part of the dual boot. The card is Atheros 5600, and it is in a "Acer Aspire 5100" runing a AMD TURION 64X2. I added the wireless card to Network devices and listed the IP address of the router and that of the gateway, and the name of the network, but still no go. I tried to download the "rpm's" from "madwifi for the Atheros cards and Suse 10.1, but when I try to run it in YAST it says that the rpm is not on the medium....any help appriciated at this time.....
