Hi,
I have a problem with my SUSE Linux 10 distro and my smartlink modem. This modem was working fine when I was using SUSE 9.1, but after I upgraded (I did a clean install), it stopped functioning. Before I go on any further, my SUSE distro is the 1-CD edition so it is missing some features, some of them being the kernel source and this modem driver. So I found the smartlink driver on SUSE's FTP server and installed it just fine. However, it seems to have trouble starting it. Even when SUSE is booting and I see the scrolling messages, I see one failed one that reads:
Code:
Starting Smartlink Modem Driver
FATAL: Module slamr not found
FATAL: Module slusb not found
Start proc: exit status of parent of /usr/sbin/slmodemd: 255
I have read in some sites that to solve this problem, I need to install a program called "ungrab-winmodem". However, because I do not have the source code, I can't compile it (make/make install). Do any of you know a solution to this?
Thank you.
