VMware workstation 6.0.1 problem with installing softwares
I am using Suse 10.3 and successfully install VMware workstation 6.0.1 and build a virtual machine of Windows 2000 w/ SP4. But I have trouble installing softwares from CDrom. I tried to install Office 2003, the windows 2000 environment sees the disk, but cannot run the setup file. I have another Bible software, Quickverse 8, win2000 won't even see all the file and folder on the disk. Have you guys run into the similar problem? Is some files being missing for executing programs or the CDROM format being messed up. I am using a DVD-rw drive that works perfectly with Win2000 and Suse before. I really appreciate your help. Thanks!
Micro420,
Thanks for helping me looking into this matter. Yes I am using a physical cdrom. You mean to create an iso of installation disk and then install the program off that? I have never done that. Do I need some special program in order to read or execute the iso?
Distribution: Mac OS X Leopard 10.6.2, Windows 2003 Server/Vista/7/XP/2000/NT/98, Ubuntux64, CentOS4.8/5.4

Rep:
Yes, create an iso of the physical CD and try that. I have never used VMware workstation in Linux, but the Windows version of VMware Workstation is all graphical and really easy to point the cd-rom to an iso file. So maybe edit some configuration files to point it to the iso file
