Hi, everybody! I have a usb desktop microphone (i heard that linux is not really good with usb, but that may not be true) and HAD SuSE 9.1 Pro. It didn't even recognize it! So I UPDATED to SuSE 9.2 Pro (not just because of that. I tried the Live-CD and it worked perfectly! Found all my hardware etc...) And now, this thing happened. When i boot, KDE loads, session restores there is no sound. I go to SusePlugger and it says that i have a sond card and it everything is configured. Also, in the "Unknown Devices" there is my usb mic. But when i try to adjust the mixer with Kmix or other soft it shows my mic as an input device and the only mixer available!!! And no sound card! So i open up a recording program and try to record something. Looks like it works, i mean it does record something, but i can't listen to it! Because my mic is the only mixer configured!
So i go to YaST and try to setup my card. When i finally configure it, it restarts all sound-using app's and everything works! I mean the sound does. But what about my mic? Where did it go now?
So what i am basically asking you, pro's, is to help me configure both of the mixers, since it DOES recognize them, just not both at the same time. Is it possible? Or should i buy a regular mic, with a jack to my sound card? I know that would be MUCH easier, but maybe i can live with this one... Would be really glad if you help me!
Never mind... I tried doing the same in Knoppix and... it worked!!! Not fully, but as a mic at least!
But don't think i'm dissapointed if suse, its just a mic! I can live without it :-) Besides, I had problems worse with 9.1...
