SuSE ram
Does anyone know if there is a limit to the amount of ram you are using when you install SuSE?
I tried to install SuSE 9.2 today and it got almost all the way through the install and then froze right at the last at the hardware config. I have a P4 3.0 with 2 gigs of ram installed. I installed 9.2 on my Amd 64 with no problems using 1 gig of ram and I installed it on my laptop with 320 megs with no problems, but it keeps freezing up on the P4 for some reason.
On the last attempt on the P4 I tried to "upgrade" a 9.1 install and it goes though the start up and when you tell it to go ahead and install it freezes. The curser moves and the little clock sits there going around, but even after a 30 minute wait nothing happens.
I know the hardware is good so I was wondering if maybe there is a limit to the amount of ram SuSE (linux) can use and i need to cut it back to a gig like with the Amd 64.
