suse -dependency resolution failed


plaese help me out
yar i m new to using suse 10.1 and every time i try to install a rpm package i get this error" dependency resolution failed "
during installation i selected the default installation which only installed selected packages so do tell me step by step if possible how to solve this problem

What package manager are you using to install these packages (yast, zmd, smart, apt.. etc)? Please post me the output (copy and paste) with the errors so I can look at it and tell you what you need.

Also, what package are you trying to install and what method of installation (like amlucent23 asked) are you using?

Also, if using YaST what "Installatoin Sources" do you have setup.

Also, Note for Amlucent23, I am running SLED 10 on a Dell D820 (Although I use it for work, and rdesktop into a VM at work for my Microsoft Management Consoles).

presently i have only used yast
as my package installer but it only installs the packages available in the cd's of the suse
it does not install some external packages like
winamp, xmms an to that extent my printer drivers(all downladed as rpm packages from the net )

and the people whoolll be reply ing please write a language that a rookie cud understand
