Suse 10 DVD installation

Hi,

I'm trying to install Suse 10 Linux for the first time (I used to use Fedora Core) in my notebook. I'm using the DVD version. The first part of the process seams to be all right, but the system reboot to install the packages, it stops when the installation script try to access "disc 2".

I think the installation script is the same of the disc version. A dialog appears to me to correct specify the location of a /media.2/media file, but this directory doesn't exist in the DVD.

I tryed to create a symbolic link in the root directory. It seams to solve the first problem, but then the installaton script don't find any package from "disc 2".

I verify and all rpm files are in a suse/i586 directory, but the script don't find them, and then no option to redirect the directory appear.

Does anyone have this problem before ? Can give me a clue ??

Thank you all.

Best Regards,

Antonio Lopes.

Well it sounds like the DVD media is faulty. Did you burn it correctly, verify the ISO's md5sum and verify the burned DVD? How about the media checker on the disc?

I agree with rjwilmsi, the meadia is probably bad. The only time SuSE asks for additional meadia is when you install from the set of (5) CDs.
