SUSE 10 Beta 4 --looking really good even Wireless working.

SUSE 10 Beta 4 has passed everything I've thown at it including SAMBA, Windows Shares, Network Printing, EVEN WIRELESS --using NDISWRAPPER and a Linksys WPC54g wireless card.

Mysql, Apache and PHP also fine as is email etc etc.

As always the only thing I just can't get working is playing DVD movies --that's about all I need Windoze for --but someone someday will eventually get a DVD player to work.

Suse Beta 4 seems stable enough for my production purposes --but I'll just run it on one machine for a few days.

It's looking good for the real release candidates.

I'd give it a go.

Cheers

Good news there. I'll hopefully download the first RC in about three weeks once I'm back at uni. DVD playback should work with mplayer and dvd-deCSS.

If you can get DVD playing to work please post.

BTW even my Optical Wireless Mouse works fine -- including the Scroll wheel and the two buttons pushed simultaneously.

I did have to press the manual CONNECT buttons on the optical USB receiver and Mouse the ist time --but I had to do that in DOZE as well.

On a laptop I can't use those horrible built in mouse systems -- so I connect an optical wireless "Mini-Mouse" Belkin F8E825ea usb --works fine.

I'm not sure if one can change the Boot Splash screen picture at Boot time --I'm sure one can --but that is not a real problem.

So far so good --as I said only DVD playing has me flummexed --I was surprised NDISWRAPPER worked --you Must install NDISWRAPPER and Wireless tools as it's not done by default.

Cheers
