Hi all,
I have recently upgraded tom suse 10.0 32bit/KDE 3.5.7 to opensuse 10.3 64bit with KDE 3.5.9. I face various minor problems, and an important one, that of the ssh-askpass
I have enabled ssh-askpass and keychain on my profile. In the previous installation of 10.0, that setup allowed me to have the ssh passphrase stored in memory for as long as the PC run. The configuration was:
Code:
eval `ssh-agent` 1>/dev/null
/usr/bin/keychain id_dsa 2>/dev/null
. ~/.keychain/$HOSTNAME-sh
I have the "/home" on different partition, thus, I did not removed it with the new installation. Unfortuntately, something is wrong of something has change between 10.0 and 10.3. After the login, the ssh-askpass dialog is not displayed. When I open konsole, it asks me the passphrase. When I enter it, for the rest of the
session no more passprhases are requested. However, if I log out from KDE, the passphrase is lost!
Strangely enough, if I enter the ssh passphrase from a console (not from KDE, but from a console), the passphrase is kept in memory until I reboot.
I hope that the issue is clear and that someone will help me.
Thank you,
Peter
