  • Does SuSE have a graphicial installer?
  • Are there any limitations on the Open Source version of SuSE?
  • Does SuSE have automatic Harware reconigition?
  • Can it Dual Boot with Win XP?
  • Does it install GRUB for you?

  • Yes, a damned good one. Better than any other I have tried(and I have tried basically all of them).
  • Only in so far as immediate install, which means it does not have some media functionality(for legal reasons) until you install a few updates.
  • A qualified yes. It recognizes far more than most I have tried, but still has some limits in the way of keyboards, mice and obscure hardware.
  • Yes, quite easily actually
  • Yes, or Lilo, your choice

The installer is far more sophisticated than Windows' installer, if you want a point of reference. Unless you force it into text mode, the SuSE installer is totally graphical from beginning to end. It can walk you through the installation in a wizard-like fashion, prompting you only a few times or you can go into expert modes and spend hours setting your package selections just right.

Cool, well, If only it wouldnt take 76 hours to download it... For some strange reason, nobody is seeding SuSE over 25kb...except me, I'm seeding at 73kb...strange... If anyone still has the .iso images on there computer, and can make a .torrent, would you mind?

But the mirrors weren't functioning at their full capasity, though, I still downloaded them through them, took 2 days, and I had to re-download them to get them right. I haven't been working with SuSE lately because my DigiCam isn't Supported. Hell, It isn't even supported by Windows. I have to use their software to get my pics...

should be supported. gphoto2 installed? plug the cam directly to the computer with a usb cable and turn it on. suse should notice it and mount it as an usb external storage device.
