samba logon failure

hello:
I just downloaded a samba patch in my suse 10 installation.
this suse machine acts as a samba wins server machine. I have windows xp and windows 2000 machine connected to it.

after the samba patch my windows 2000 machine alone cnanot logon to samba.

when I type

smbclient -L <machine_name>

I get

session setup failed: NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE

which I believe means that particular machine will not be added to the samba workgroup.

anybody has suggestions?

So you have a WIndows XP and Windows 2000 box. They both want to connect to your Linux box.

What happens when you open up your Network Neighborhood in Windows 2000 and Windows XP? Can they both see the Linux box? Does it show up?

Why is your Linux set up as a WINS server? Do you have legacy machines that require a WINS server?
