root environment variables/group not set

Hi,

Suse 9.3.

root user is member of other groups (in /etc/group).

Connecting root (via telnet for instance) and doing id
gives ONLY root group.

Then su - root , and doing id gives correct groups.

How can we always have correct groups?

Thanks

J.Bratières
