Removing the little dividers in the kicker

Using KBFX and some png images for the panel, I now have a very nice looking kicker. The only issue I have left with it, is the little dividers in between each panel, I would love to hide those completely, I know many do it, like reddazz's screenie.

Aside from that, I have the little app bar using a hide button, I don't know how it got there, or how to remove it, but I would love to remove it, anyone know where that configuration is hiding?

Right click on an empty space on kicker (the panel) -> Configure Panel -> Appearance -> Advanced Options -> Applet Handles and select "Hide".
