Question Real Player 10 will not Install on Suse 9.1 Pro

I downloaded RealPlayer 10 and followed the instructions to the best of my abilities, but it keeps giving me a "Unknown Host" error. I ran the .bin through the "run command", was this correct? I even tried running it as the root user to no avail.

Obviously I'm brand new to Linux.

Thanks in advance

Running Suse 9.1 Pro

Try downloading and installing the rpm.

Yes, I installed the .rpm and can say that RealPlayer 10 and the HelixPlayer both work well when installed from .rpm.

mjcwa,

I had so many problems with RealPlayer 10 that I got rid of it and run MPlayer and the Firefox browser for my media Media needs.

Getting media to run in Linux -- just like with MS -- can be a struggle. It also depends what you want to do.

Anything in particular that you want to acheive?

Thank you all for your advice, I'll try that right away.

Again, being a newby I'm looking one program to play music and video....and convert songs to MP3.

Once again, thank for your responses.
