Problems logging into openSUSE 11.0

Hey Guys,
I tried searching for similar threads but kept getting an error saying it was below the minimum character requirements for search, which I know it was not... >.>

Anyway, My Problem is this; After freshly installing openSUSE 11.0 on my laptop, I boot it up, and after it boots it asks for a login/password (this is still in text mode.) The wierdest part, is that it doesn't accept root as a login... it will only accept a regular user.
But, the password I set for that user, it is saying is incorrect. I'm currently reinstalling for a 4th time to see if it still happens, and I know it's the right password.

I can't even get to a window manager... it just doesn't like me apparently. Can anyone give me any suggestions?

Also, I've tried switching to a different TTY and logging in as root there. Still doesn't accept root as a login... I don't understand it at all...

Any help anyone can give would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

During installation nearly at the end opensuse ask to enter a user and add the same time she ask if that user password also apply for root , and for the first in suse it should be a aplha numeric password
If you do not get a xserver it normally means the graphic card or monitor is not correct configure once you can login the
text mode it can be done in the text mode.
What is written on the command line ?

all the best
