No DHCP server available for install.

This is my first linux install from FTP, and I'm running into a problem right at the beginning. I boot from the 9.2 mini-installation ISO, get a printout of the NIC's mac address, then the install hangs on searching for a DHCP server, eventually restarting the machine. I'm assuming that it's waiting for an IP to be assigned - the problem is that on my Uni department's network, there is no DHCP server. Network access is only possible through assigned IPs.

Is there any way to get around this DHCP search and enter my assigned IP manually?

Thanks much

Hmmmmm, this will teach me to pay closer attention on startup when my machine seems to hang. Turns out that just before it restarts, it prints the message:

PXE-E53 no boot filename received

This will hopefully make things a little clearer.

You got to enter manual installation and configure the settings yourself. Therefore you will also need the IP of the server instead of its DNS resolved address. But then it works fine. Good luck !
