Moving 9.1 system to 9.2 system

What are the steps to move user, group information, data and buisness applications from a 9.1 system to 9.2 system?
Wht is the best tool in KDE environment to usr for bakup and restore?

What tool can be used to take full lbackup of 9.x system for later restore on the same hardware environment?

Thanks

Are you doing a SuSE upgrade or moving everything to a new computer?

There is a program called kdar that can backup to writable DVDs. There are also commercial backup solutions. They tend to utilize tapes, such as DLTs. You might use the SuSE backup tool and back up our system to an externel usb drive. Then in an emergency, restore the system from this device, and back up your later data by whatever subsequent routine backup system you decide on.

I tried KDAR and it hangs with /proc/kmsg 0 size file! If I am successful in KDAR backup will it contain all the required info to restore and boot the system? How will I do stand alone restore on the same PC using KDAR?

Where is suse backup? Is taht one in the YAST2 system window?

Thanks

You can access the suse backup by selecting yast in the menu.

YaST -> System -> System Backup
