Mounted Suse9.2, now what? I want to clean install it from 9.0? HELP! FAST! THX!
I have Suse9.0 right now, I finally mounted it and started yast, I went to Upgrade System and it said it was going to upgrade it to 9.2, using minimum. I didn't want that, I wanted Default. I think right? Well anyways, there are a whole lot of packages coming up with dependencies. I just want to do a clean install to 9.2 with the most features. What do I do? Where do I start? Thx
I went ahead with the Update in yast, kept asking for the Suse 9.0 cd. Wtf? Im trying to install 9.2, not 9.0. So I skipped those.... It finished, all my file are still on it.... WEIRD. And yast doesn't work now. ITS MESSED UP! I was referred here by our datacenter tech.... he said you culd provide a fast and good response....no one did, so I did it on my own and this is what happens. Anyone know what to do now?
Can you give us some more information? Are you able to access X at all? Are you stuck at the command line? Tell us what's going on.
You can try to start YaST from the console (do ctrl+alt+F1). You'll need to login as root. Then just type "yast"
You'll get the YaST ncurses version. Now, in your YaST sources, disable ALL of them except the 9.0 sources (yes you need to go back to 9.0 to get a working system).
To upgrade to 9.2, you'll need to boot from a CD (mini-installation) or DVD (full installation) and do an upgrade. I do not think that there is a way to do an upgrade from within SuSE. If I'm wrong, someone correct me.
