mount : Seagate usb drive

Thanks already

Today my problem is hopefully easy. However, I cannot figure it out. I have a machine that is Suse 10.2, I put the usb Seagate 300Gb external drive into the usb and nothing. I checked automount with a usb stick. It mounted it. I tried to look for it in /dev/disk but I couldn't find it. The access light doesn't blink at all when I put it in the usb slot. But I know the usb works see above usb stick. I thought maybe the drive so I tested it on Windoze and it worked, also I tested it on Suse 10.0 and it worked. . Anyone, any ideas??

Thanks,

Also probably not a great idea but I'll ask 2 questions in one thread. Can I link to the drive from the 10.0 computer to the 10.2 computer. the 10.0 computer has ftp on it, and I have mounted home dir's via nis/yp? Do I have to do nfs stuff ?

well I found my answer.
The Seagate drive was being loaded as a hard drive and not a usb device like before with suse. So I eventually found the /dev/sdd1 and mount it.
One of these days I'll have to learn nfs.

Cheers,
