Library of Libraries?

Hello all

One of the frustrating aspects of installing a program in Linux is going in search of the required libraries prior to installing the main program.

I was wondering if there was some sort of "library of libraries" out there where I could just install a bunch of the major libraries prior to installing some of the programs I would like to use.

This question was inspired by my attempt to install Evolution under KDE, which asks for something like 30 libraries (I have them saved) and some of the libraries won't come up in a Google search when I go looking for them.

RPMfind.net has RPM based sources, and of course freshmeat.net if you're just looking for random library X. But I find that even if I'm not specifically looking for a RPM, RPMfind often has usefull links over to the source for a given library when I punch in the name.
