HTTP source installation:

Server name: mirrorservice.org
Directory on Server: sites/ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/supplementary/GNOME/update_for_9.1/yast-source

FTP source installation:

Server name: ftp.suse.com
Directory on Server: pub/suse/i386/supplementary/GNOME/update_for_9.1/yast-source

I guess this is what you were asking?

the problem is, most of the icons/links on the desktop/starup menu just simply dont work..they error or something...

I fell for this error when doing a previous update of KDE. If the icon for an application you have tried to launch just bounces for the default 30 seconds and then stops, the most likely cause is that the menu link to the applications have broken due to the upgrade and need to be re-established. This is a nuisance and just one of the reasons why I generally stick to the KDE version issued with whatever release of SuSE I have installed. Boring I know, but reliable. Regards dkpw

Most of those weird errors come from incomplete updates. Try to check if all packages have been updated to the new version:

Code:
rpm -qa | grep kde
rpm -qa | grep qt3
