Ipv6

I've installed Suse Linux 10.0 and i need to configure ipv6 for a work.
I need to have a global ipv6 address. And in order to run multicast apps also.

I was told that in Fedora Core you could add the lines:

NETWORKING_IPV6=yes

in /etc/sysconfig/network

And needed also to add in
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth (for the device eth0) the lines:

IPV6INIT=yes
IPV6_AUTOCONF=yes
IPV6_AUTOCONF=no
IPV6ADDR={a static address here}/120

The problem is that in Suse Linux i don't have those files. Not even the directory 'network-scripts'. Could anybody help me?

It's the first time i work on linux (and with ip configurations) so please be gentle if i said something wrong :P

To answer the second part first the devices are stored in the /etc/sysconfig/network folder and they will have a name similar to "ifcfg-eth-id-00:0e:a6:63:7e:b2"

additionally you may want to run the following commands:

#echo "alias net-pf-10 on" >> /etc/modprobe.conf
#echo "alias ipv6 on" >> /etc/modprobe.conf

I hope this helps get you pointed in the right direction.

Tnx. I think i've got it working Ipv6 is on by default. And to get the results i wanted i just had to edit the file henchmen talked about. I also discovered that it can be done in Yast too. in the /etc/sysconfig editor. Thanks.
