invalid PC mode-Dell rack, Novell Linux OES
Hi there.
Trying to run a OES test server I'm running into an odd problem.
Suse/Novell want you to do some stuff from the GUI so we are trying to fire it up.
But we keep getting this blue screen with "Invalid PC MOde" and "47 hz:H, 60hz:V"
So one would figure that it doesn't like the refresh rates in Xf86cConfig so I ran yast from the command line as they want you to. But it does this when trying to run the utility (Sax?) to configure as well.
So I editied the XF86Config file manually using refresh rates from a Red Hat server running succesfully on the same rack. But the error does not change. No matter what I do. I even tried just substituting the whole xf86Config file from the Red Hat server.
The only issue I can figure is that the problem server has a newer ATI Readon card on it where the working Red Hat one has on older Mach 64 on it. Could it be that Linux ATI drivers for this card and the dell rack are just a bad mix?
At any rate something is pushing the refresh rates to where the moniter does not like.
It has no problem on the CLI when booting up and had no problem with graphical install. Just when running the configuration utility from command promp or when running the Xserver.
Does any body have any suggestions on a setting that can be changed that I am not thinking of?
