incorrect screen position SUSE 10.0

Hi,
On my PC there are : SUSE 10.0 eval , Mandriva 2006 and Windows XP. SUSE is not able to position my screen properly , the image is a little bit shifted to the left.Graphic card : NVIDIA FX 5500, drivers are properly installed.First problem in SUSE was the refresh rate, but I found xmode utility which generated a modeline which now is working like in Windows XP and Mandriva. Can anybody tell me if there is a method to position the screen also in SUSE ? Thanks.

Good question, I used the controls on the monitor to shift (and enlarge) the screen. Of course when I boot into XP (very rarely if ever) the screen position is off.

The proper way to do this in SUSE is to use Sax2, when you save the changes it will ask if you wish to test before saving, on the testing screen it will allow positioning of the screen.

Solved

Finaly, after a lot of search on the net I found the answer: there is a small utility xvidtune which helps you "arrange" the screen and you can see the settings for modeline. Just update your xorg.conf with these settings, then restart X server . That's all.
