HPFS partitions not mounting in SUSE 10.0

Hi. Fired up installer (CD #1) for SUSE 10.0; my PC has a virgin HD-1, plus my old HD-2.
Installer correctly showed me the 2 hard disks, displaying for my old HD-2 the 6 HPFS partitions I have on it, and correctly identifying them as HPFS partitions.
Thusly, I instructed the installer to do all the partitioning I wanted in HD-1, and also to mount my old HPFS partitions onto directories /old_1; /old_2; . . . /old_6

After completing all screens for partitioning disks, I moved on to selecting software packages and customizing other stuff. Once done, I hit "INSTALL"

. . . whirrr, whizzz, whuurrr . . . etc, and then I get the error:

HPFS not recognized -- or some such nonsense to that effect. AND the install ABORTS! (of course trashing my 2 hours I spent selecting and customizing the installation.

What gives?
How do I make YAST-2 mount my HPFS partitions?

Thank you,
