How Do I Upgrade 9.1 to 9.2?

I installed 9.1 because a full install DVD came with a magazine I purchased. Since I had problems with my downloaded CD this turned out to be a handy solution.. Now is there a way for me to upgrade to 9.2?

I noticed when I installed the 9.1 it performed an update via the web? Was it upgrading to 9.2?

I am a newbie with some linux experience.

No, it wouldn't have been upgrading to SUSE 9.2, just updating some packages.
If you get SUSE 9.2 install disks and boot them like you would to install them, then they will give you the option to upgrade.

Well the upgrade went great! I am now running 9.2! It took a long time. First of all my download rate isn't the greatest. I am stuck out of town on business for a long time living in a hotel. They advertise "high-speed connection" but simply put "IT AIN'T". Anyway I set the upgrade via ftp using the 9.2 net install disk I had. I set it last night and went to bed. Got up this morning and it was finished. You don't save time doing an upgrade. It appears to take as long as a fresh install if you are using ftp. Anyway I'm in business! I just got my TV card working quickly with no problem. At first I thought i had no sound but I simply had to adjust volume level in YaST. CD's and DVD's are playing "out of the box". My next assignment is to get my ATI 9600 working. Right now 3d isn't working properly. I expected this since this happens with most distros.

OK I was mistaken. CD's are playing "out of the box". DVD's aren't. I had some vob files on my mounted vfat disc and they played. I actually hadn't tried a DVD. In order to get DVD's to play I had to use Yast2 to install libxine1 and its dependencies (speex and win32codec-all .) After that DVD's played but my TV picture stopped working. Now I have to figure this out. Oh what fun this is!
