HELP!, I'm Using Winblows......

I just moved to another reigon and have a new ISP. I connect with a
DSL Modem/Gateway, but I can only get the MS Sh... to browse the
Web. SuSE is configured and I recieved my email messages today, but I cannot browse the Web or send email. I used more than one browser for the Web and I used both port 25 and 587 for sending email.

I tried disabling the Firewall, but to no avail.

What else can I do?

You propably need to go into Control Center -> YaST2 Modules -> Network Devices and reconfigure your DSL.

My DSL is configured properly per the guidelines from my ISP. I think the problem is with the DSL Gateway from Actiontec; unfortunately, I cannot contact them. Tech support hangs up before they talk to you and thir FAX numbers (2) cannot be called.

I thought of getting a speedstream, but I read horror stories about this one as well. I still have it and will try to do something with it, again.

Has anyone had luck with "off the shelf" DSL modems? If so, which one(s)?

Just before I returned the DSL Gateway to inComp USA, I called Actiontech once again a got a response. Just as I thought, like SBC,
they can't help with Linux; unlike SBC, they at least felt I should be able to use the Gateway with Linux. He siad I should be able to pick the private IP address from the Gateway and use that for connecting. Sounds more like a project for tonight/tomorrow.

Man, at least my ISP in California had a seperate user support group for UNIX/Linux.
