That was true when KDE 4 came out, but now it's more stable.

It's a personal preference. Use both and decide. And it's easy to install both on the same system and choose when you log in.

@ darkduck- you could have given an opinion, not just links to your blog.

@ yasaswisrikanth- which distro and version of KDE are you using? I had a couple of crashes very early in the KDE 4.X development, I havent seen one for ages. Not since I moved to KDE 4.1 or 4.2.

You can use gnome/GTK programs in KDE, and KDE/Qt programs in gnome, so software availability is the same.

Performance, thats far more copmplex. Some distros are much 'heavier' than others.

Personally, I wouldnt bother with gnome 2.X now. Gnome 3 does even less for me than gnome 2.X did.

Links state my position.
Between GNOME and KDE I choose KDE.
But SuSE will never be in my list of options.

What is my opinion about OpenSuSE 11.4 KDE? Is it better than GNOME version? I definitely say yes, it is. It has some features which GNOME version lacks: multi-language support, KPackageKit, etc. They all brought in by KDE.
But... would this change my general opinion about OpenSuSE? I am afraid not. If I ever wanted to replace my existing "boots" to something new, OpenSuSE would not be in the list. It still has too many troubles for me compared to other systems.

See, that wasnt so hard, you didnt need to push people to your blog. All it took was one sentance.

I used to like KDE, but that Akonadi thingee drove me away. If you uninstall it, it keeps trying to come back and everything it promise to index is irrelevant to my computing habits; it's just pointless overhead. Consequently, between the two, I preferred Gnome 2.

But mostly I use Fluxbox, with a mix of KDE and Gnome applications. With a little bit of effort, you can make Fluxbox look really spiffy.

You can see the one I'm looking at now right here, if you wish.
