/etc/fstab mystery

hello:

I installed matlab student version inw suse 10.0. It refused to work and instructed met o insert the cd. Even though the cd was already in the drive.

So taking the advice of matalb support staff I changed the /etc/fstab entry from

/dev/dvdrecorder /media/dvdrecorder subfs noauto,fs=cdfss,ro,procuid,nosuid,nodev,exec,iocharset=utf8 0 0

to

/dev/dvdrecorder /cdrom iso9660 noauto,unhide,ro,user,exec 0 0

and commented our the first line
i did umount and mount -a. however it did not remount the file system.

so I rebooted the system. To my surprise the cd is still mounted in /media/dvdrecorder even though ther eis no fstab entry for it!!!

I am confused . any help

thanx

I re booted

From man mount

noauto -
Can only be mounted explicitly (i.e., the -a
option will not cause the file system to be
mounted).

mount -a wouldn't mount /cdrom with the noauto option. Try
mount /cdrom.
