Disc Questions

Alright I have a spare hard drive with nothing on it and I decided to give Suse a shot. I'm having trouble, mostly from the complete idioticy of Novells site. For starters it is down right evil to force the full 5 cds for an install. Not to mention the idea of a liveDVD that doesn't even have a clear hd installer.

Before I opt to commit many many hours to downloading the cd isos (because Novell has no torrents to use) I'd first like to know if there is some hidden way to install Suse from the Live DVD I downloaded. Failing that I'd like to know where I can get x86-64 versions of the install cds. Everything I find is i386, except the live dvd. That's x86-64, go figure.

Okay here goes:

1. Torrents are available. SUSE 9.3 is available from http://www.interknet.net/bt/?torrent=suse93

2. The Live DVD is not installable.

3. The install CDs of 9.3 Pro have both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions. [The full DVD has sources as well, that's why it's twice the size.]

4. SUSE 10 is due for release on the 6th of October. www.opensuse.org will have links to download it (5 CD images) either by FTP, HTTP or Bittorrent. There will of course be i386 and x86-64 versions. Currently you will find the first release client available for download.
