Hi all,
I've got a naiive question about which is the right kernel for me. I've got Suse 9.2 on my P4 Notebook and would like to install a new kernel, including the kernel source. Preferably I would not like to build it on my own.
The problem is, I don't find the default-kernel branch anymore. For example the kernels for Suse 9.3 under
ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/projects/kern...86/SL93_BRANCH
are no rpm's, except for kernel-source-debuginfo-2.6.11.4-SL93_BRANCH_20060202205426.i586.rpm
and this is only the source (what is this "debuginfo"?). And then I only find kernels with debug or multiprocessor-support, and "xen" (??).
My kernel-history is: I started with the standard-kernel which used to crash when I used "tail -f /var/log/messages" and so I installed a kotd: 2.6.11.12, but without the source. I don't get the source anymore, which I need now, so I need a new kernel. Can I also use the one from 10.0 - 2.6.13?
Best,
Mat
