cannot start /etc/init.d/novell-ZMD service
Hi, I am new to linux and I don't ecpect to learn this new os in a hurry so please bear with me.
I settled on OpenSuse 10.1 and have been quite happy with it, I have it runnung on an Athlon64 3200+, Asus A8N-VM-CSM M/B, 1 gig of Corsair Ram, Samsung 80gig Sata II. Everything was running fine until I tried to update Opera 8.52 to 9.1 I then got an error message stating (cannot start '/etc/init.d/novell-ZMD' service) also when I start my computer in the morning I get a message informing me that ("ZMD does not appear to be running").
Yast seems to be a bit on the slow side so after reading some of the forums I tried to install Smart Package manager but I get the error message above, I am unable to install software with either the software installer or yast, I have tried starting ZMD with the command line using the command "rczmd start" it informs me that the service is starting but when I try to do anything with software I continually get the same error message, also tried to start it in the System Services(Runlevel): Details window but that also failed
Can anyone help, I don't seem to be able to update my system or add software.
Any help appreciated, thanks
