Can not read CDROM

Hi,

I am having problems opening my CDROM as a user and as root. Having read through the forums I thought I may have creacked it by editing fstab to include the user statement.

/dev/cdrom /media/cdrom subfs fs=cdfss,ro,user,procuid,nosuid,nodev,exec,iocharset=utf8 0 0

but when I enter mount in shell get in response

/dev/hdc on /media/cdrom type subfs (ro,nosuid,nodev,fs=cdfss,procuid,iocharset=utf8)

I am editing the wrong file? I would like to be able to have full access to the CDROM as a user, as some CD's I have kindly include .ogg format (thanks Lyle Lovatt!).

Any suggestions?

Many Thanks

Steve

Perhaps you could try changing your fstab line to something simpler like:

/dev/cdrom /media/cdrom auto ro,user,noauto 0 0

auto is for the filesystem type
noauto is so the system won't try to mount the cdrom during boot
user is so that a normal user can mount the cdrom
