9.3 menus ???

A basic install with KDE (not the "all of KDE" option though).

Added a few apps/packages, but where the hell is the menu editor ??? I have 3 or 4 external sources so that I can keep the package listings up to date for installed stuff and anything else that I might want to install, but I can't find anything in my start menu, under either system or utilities etc and YAST doesn't show any availability for kmenuedit(or).

So where should I be looking ???

cheers

John

if you just right-click on a blank part of the task bar - edit the kmenu is one of the options

right click on the SuSE (or K or 'start menu' if your a Microsoftie) icon and the menu editor is right there.

Acts a little weird though IMHO... for example, I added Ethereal and then couldn't find the prog listed. Turns out that if there's only one item in a submenu the expand arrow isn't displayed. So my new program was labeled 'Administration' instead of 'Ethereal', which is extremely annoying to say the least.

Thanks for the reply dth1 and Crito.

It's some of the naming conventions that I want to change i.e. I know the names of the apps and what they do, but for example "CD ripper" is actually the Sound-Juicer ripping app so I want to get shot of confusing stuff like that!

regards

John
