VNC Server Setup Question
I use SuSE 9.0 Pro with KDE, and I want to setup remote access to another computer. Actually, I have already gotten the remote access to work. The problem is that everytime I want to remotely access the desktop of the other computer, I have to first go to that computer and initiate a new VNC invitation (so that it can give me the password) before I can use the remote access.
Supposedly SuSE 9.2 allows you to configure the VNC invitation to allow "always on access" with no requirement of a password. SuSE 9.0 does not.
I tried installing the 9.2 version of the VNC server (i.e. kdenetwork3-vnc) on my 9.0 system, but it does not work due to system inconsistencies.
Is there some other VNC software that I can use on 9.0 to accomplish this? Or, is there some better way to configure what I already have? This seems like a relatively simple thing to do, and, to be honest, I cannot figure out why SuSE 9.0 would require a password everytime you want to setup the remote access. This doesn't make sense, because it seems to defeat the point of having the remote access in the first place (i.e. being somewhere else and wanting to access your other computer).
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
