Question Python problem

oi! m8's! i just finished installing suse 9.2 pro and i have a couple problems with python.

first off python its self works just fine and so does the interpruter. the problem is that when i make a python file for eample:

#!/usr/bin/python
print "i like apple"

and then chmod +X "name of file"

i cant execute the file in bash or by clicking on it and the pathway is right because i checked it with

# whereis python
/usr/bin/python

on my slackware 10 box if i make the above file i can easily open it in bash by entering its name and hen hitting enter.

i have installed all the packages that pertain to python in suse and even tried to d/l wxpython rpm however i was unable to make that install.

any help would be great!

cheers,

You need to use a lowercase x with chmod.
