I am into my 3rd week of a windows to linux switchover so don't assume I know anything.

I installed Suse 10.1 and got the integrated wireless working no problem by installing ipw3945d. I noticed major issues with updates-yast2-package management but I finally got around it the issues but while doing so I updated the kernel. While updating the kernel my wireless would no longer bridge into my WinXP vmware session. So I decided to update drivers by going to Intel's site and following the install. Now my wireless does not work at all.

I went through the install docs thoroughly so to answer any questions about ieee80211 headers and the like, I did do all of that. At boot I was getting symbol errors when ipw3945d was looking for 80211 headers. It appeared that I had module mismatches so I used the remove-old script that came with ieee80211.

Now I do not get any indication at boot that the card even exists or trys to load. I can see it under Yast--> hardware but not under Yast-->network devices.

Any thoughts?
