Hi!

I would like to help, but you haven't told what your problem is. What happened? What kind of hardware do you have?

i'm not a LINUX guru .. i'v used Windows all my life .. so this is what happened
i went thru the whole installation process nicely and cautiously .. then i got the "have fun ... bla bla bla" in text mode .. what i know is that i was supposed to log in and type "X" to enter the X server they say .. then press enter ... that i did and what i got was frustrating -- a grey poor resolution screen with that 'X' thing moving wheneva i move my mouse ... then that was it .. nothing happened .. i tried leaving it for a few nights in that mode and nothing happened ..

i hope that gives u a picture of my fate ..

thanks

X is not the command you have to use to start the usable graphical environment. Have you installed KDE? If yes, just type kdm and there you go!
