How to remove HP installer-driver for printer I no longer have ?

I had this printer up and working on OpenSuSE 11.4 for my years...

http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web...all/index.html

The printer has since crashed-broken but the software continues to load at startup (system tray)...I have found a hidden directory (.hplip) that contains a config file only. What would be the proper way to uninstall the software installer-driver ? This installer-driver is not listed in YAST

If you have not removed the printer from CUPS, do so.

As root, execute hp-uninstall to remove the software.

Note: if you acquire another H-P printer, you'll want HPLIP to configure it.

Hope this helps some.

the ppd for the old printer is only a few kb

if you manually installed a custom file
then just delete it.
But CUPS has built in support for many printers and hp is part of the default instal

now if you no longer have any hp hardware
you can use zypper to remove the HP only related code
but as above you might want it latter

Of note
is is way past time to upgrade to a supported version of OpenSUSE
opensuse 12.1 has LESS than 3 months of life lest
and 12.2 is the current , with 12.3 coming out very soon
