GnuCash via FreeNX (NoMachine) KDE session

I have FreeNX (0.3.1-3) on Suse 9.3 and NX Client for Windows (1.5.0_103) on W2K. I can run everything as if I were at the actual machine except for GnuCash (1.8.9-8), which starts to load, but then never opens. The splash window just disappears.

If I try running it from a console, I get:

/home/jeremy/.kde/share/config/gtkrc:37: error: unexpected identifier `gtk-alternative-button-order', expected keyword - e.g. `style'

As a guess, I tried the following (but it did not change the result):
1. Suse box: Enable xfs and open port 7100
2. Firewall: Open port 7100
3. NX Client: Check 'Use font server' with my [susehostname.org] and port 7100.

Any thoughts?

Jeremy
