command line install from ftp

hi there. i couldn't find any information about this.

the main question: is it possible to install from ftp.suse.com at command line?
when i was searching for information i found apt4rpm. something similar to debians great package system. but it looked like if this won't be supported by suse.
are the apt repositories from gdwg only links to the current suse sources or is it something completely different?
i dont wanna screw up my system with this.

is there maybe another way to install programs from command line via ftp? (not downloading and then using rpm).

any links or information?

thanks for help.

You can easily use apt with SuSE. Check out http://linux01.gwdg.de/apt4rpm/home.html
