Amarok 1.4.10 and 2.0 not playing mp3s - with restricted formats package installed.
Hello,
I've recently installed openSUSE 11.1. Ever since the restricted format one-clicks appeared, I've used them to get all my multimedia up and running. So, after getting 11.1 set-up, I've downloaded the codecs-kde.ymp and installed the whole package, which always allowed me to play everything I wanted. I've also installed Amarok 2.0 from the repo - and wanted to play some mp3s. But Amarok 2.0 doesn't let me add them to the playlist with xine as the backend, and with gstreamer - it doesn't play them, even though they're in the playlist. As for Amarok 1.4.10 (from the amarok-packman package) - it says that the xine engine isn't able to play the files, and with yauap - the sound quality is just horrible. I've tried reinstalling, removing, purging, updating the packages - nothing helps. I've installed mp3blaster as a temporary replacement, but I'd really love to return to Amarok (which, from 2.0, I love even more). Does anyone have any ideas? On Kubuntu 8.10 everything worked well, but I don't want to get back to it - I prefer openSUSE much more.
