sun keyboard beep

Hi people,

I have a problem with the beeping sound of my sun keyboard when i bash autocompletion wrong

eg.
/usr/bin/pkg[tab]

Is there a way to remove this and have a visual bell instead? I don't think my family appreciates my reliance on autocompletion late at night.

This should be fixed by adding
set bell-style visible
to your ~/.inputrc file.

Possible other ways are:
unplug the loud-speaker, works always

set the X11 beep volume (e.g.: xset b 20) or turn it off (xset -b)
use some terminal emulator settings (e.g. with xterm: ctrl-middle button / Enable Visible Bell)
