Just for FYI, since I used the CD1 on my Laptop (It did not go through), I tried to use the same CD1 on a Desktop, it went through till it reached this message:
Code:
WARNING:iprb0: no M11 link detected
Using Install cd in /dev/dsk/c1t0d0p0
Using RPC Bootparams for network configuration information.
Attempting to configure interface iprb0...
skipped interface iprb0
Then I though the problem may be with CD1 itself, I was about to download only CD1 again.
I went to Solaris site, I found they updated to 3-06 (before two days it was 2-06).
1- I downloaded V10 3-06, I tried CD1 on my laptop, it did not go through it stuck on the same place where V10 2-06 stuck.
2- I tried the same CD1 (V10 3-06) on another laptop (At work all of us we have got Latitude D600), the same problem happened.
3- I tried the same CD1 (V10 3-06) on Desktop(different one that I used for CD1 2-06 in post #5) , it has gone thorugh till it reached this message:
Code:
WARNING:iprb0: no M11 link detected
Using Install cd in /dev/dsk/c1t0d0p0
Using RPC Bootparams for network configuration information.
Attempting to configure interface iprb0...
skipped interface iprb0
4- Then it went through and asking to choose language ,,then I stopped the process of installation.
WARNING:iprb0: no M11 link detected
Using Install cd in /dev/dsk/c1t0d0p0
Using RPC Bootparams for network configuration information.
Attempting to configure interface iprb0...
skipped interface iprb0
PC screen stuck with the above code 20 minutes(not 20 seconds), then I got the screen where it asked about "Select a language"!!!!!

Yes, "V10" is not a Solaris terminology.
There is Solaris 10 (3/05), Solaris 10 hw1 and Solaris 10 update 1 (1/06) which are the three official releases based on SunOS 5.10, and there is Solaris Express based on SunOS 5.11, a.k.a. OpenSolaris, which is a beta of next Solaris major release.
Every couple of week there is new build of Solaris Express, the current one is 35 (36 perhaps). Some of these builds are promoted as Solaris Express Community Edition with a calendar naming, like 2/06 or 3/06.
About you PC hangs, try installing with the network disconnected, when it is plugged in, the installer is trying to find information from the network which are not there on your net.
