Segmentation fault while installing Websphere Portal Server on Solaris 10 x64
While trying to install Websphere Portal Server on Solaris OS, I was faced with the following error: 'Segmentation fault: core dumped'.
Below are the specifications we have used for the same:
- We have installed Sun Solaris 10 x64 (experimental) on Virtaul Machine. (i.e we have created a virtual machine on Windows box (Windows 2003 Server) using VMWare tool.)
- We have the following packs of WebSphere Portal V6.0 - WebSphere Portal Server for Solaris, V6.0 eAssembly (CR45ZML).
1. WebSphere Portal V6.0 - Portal Install for Solaris x64, V6.0 (SO-Setup) Multilingual (C964ZML)
2. S0-1 Contains Application Server at the required level if not already installed.
WebSphere Portal V6.0 - WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment for Solaris x64, V6.0.2.11 (SO-1) Multilingual (C9650ML)
3. SO-2 is optional: Contains Process Server at the required level if not already installed. Required for enhanced workflow capabilities WebSphere Portal V6.0 - WebSphere Process Server for Solaris x64, V6.0.1.3 (SO-2) Multilingual (C9651ML)
4. WebSphere Portal V6.0 - Portal Server for Solaris x64, V6.0 (Disc 1 of 2) (SO-3) Multilingual (C9652ML)

7. WebSphere Portal V6.0 - IBM Tivoli Directory Server for Solaris x64, V6.0.0.2 (SO-6) Multilingual (C9655ML)
8. WebSphere Portal V6.0 - DB2 UDB Enterprise Server Edition for Solaris x64, V8.2.4 (SO-7) Multilingual (C9658ML)
9. WebSphere Portal V6.0 - Edge Components for WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment for Solaris x64, V6.0.2 (SO-8) Multilingual (C9659ML)
All attempts of finding solution to the problem in WPS domain have failed, so it seems this is a problem related to Solaris or WPS' compatibility with Solaris. Since, my knowledge about Solaris is bare minimum, I would grately appreciate any help.
Sorry, that's just Solaris 10, not experimental. While installation of an OS on VMWare, it asks for version of OS to be installed, Solaris 10 (Experimental) is one of them. We, however, have installed Solaris 10, not the experimental version.
