NIS configuration!

My solaris sparc pc is under the domain named "sys.com".And I want to
configure my solaris pc to be a NIS server in my lab whose domain name is
lab.com. I wonder if this configuration is feasible?

Can you help me? Any useful sites about NIS is appreciated.

Thanks......!

Yes this is fine. Your NIS domain doesn't have to be (and many people say it shouldn't be) the same as your Internet domain. A Googlke search on configuring NIS should give you plenty of resources. You may want to consider using LDAP instead if you're not on a totally trusted and firewalled network.
