can anyone tell what output does ipmitool and svcadm gives? I guess this command should be in /usr/sbin/ directory
is there any equivalent command for this in Linux ?

svcadm issues requests for actions on services executing
within the service management facility (see smf(5)). Actions
for a service are carried out by its assigned service res-
tarter agent. The default service restarter is svc.startd
(see svc.startd(1M)).
svcadm's functions are probably done by "service" and "chkconfig", but SMF doesn't have a good equivalent on Linux.

Some of svcadm is done with the 'service' and 'chkconfig' commands, but SMF doesn't have a good equivalent on Linux.

Yes, the linux equivalent to ipmitool is "ipmitool".

Install the openipmi and ipmitool packages. Check Google.

To all other mods: Please don't close this, it's in the right place.

For everyone's "convenience", here are the other 3 place this was posted:
https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...mitool-850555/
https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...ommand-850607/
https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...em-cli-850335/

Fortunately only the last one accumulated any answers before it was closed, so you have only one other place to look to see all the contributions to this discussion. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Asked in a report:
Quote:
Is it not possible to re-post a question in different forum if we didn't get an answer from the first forum?
The answer for everyone who was wondering
No, that is double posting & is not allowed.
Use the report mechanism:
To get your thread moved, report it -- yes, report yourself -- & just ask. Something like: "Please move to <name of forum>" is enough.
