IBM X235 and Solaris 10

I have a IBM x235 server and I want to install Solaris 10 but everytime I run the install, Solaris cannot find my array thus not seeing any drives. What is the trick for Solaris?

Wink IBM X235 and Solaris 10

I had same bug with HP DL380 G5. You can try Opensolaris latest build.

Or you can use Linux, BTW i think you could do anything.

I can, There is also a IBM quick start cdrom that I have been using and I have delete and recreate the array and RAID5 and then after all of that has been done, I boot from the Solaris 10 cdrom and it ask me for the everything, blah blah blah and then it gives me the error message saying that it cannot see any of the drives. It has to be a driver that Solaris is not loading up for the RAID controller. Solaris is a piece of work. I am tryimg to understand why Sun is so ass backwards as far as making things a little easier for little things like better software package management, better plug and pray and etc. At least for the most part when ever I deal with most Linux Distros, they seem to have it together. I have been to the IBM website but there is no driver for Solaris under that model. What to do?

If your disk controller isn't supported by Solaris and you cannot configure it to present a standard interface, I'm afraid there is not that much you can do unless you are ready to write a driver from scratch or pay IBM or the chipset manufacturer to do it.

I have a Adaptec ServRAID 5I controller. I called IBM and they say that it is made by Adaptec but IBM make the drivers and they do not have any for that OS. I have talking to SUN technical support right now as we speak to see if they have any drivers for this controller.

forgive me for my stupidity but that application is not the actual drivers it is more less utilities for accesssing an already configured contoller. So I would choose option 5 during the Solaris installation and install the drivers?

I was told that I could manually install the opensolaris drivers during installation but how would I do that?
