Smile Configuration Information In Solaris

Hi all,

Can someone tell me how to obtain general system information in Solaris. I'm needing to obtain information about number of CPUs, speed of machine, amount of memory, current operating system, latest patch installed, how many bits the machine is and the name of the machine the operating system is running on.

Thanks.

Hi!

I might help a bit.

"showrev -p" - will give you the info on patch.

"uname -a" - will give you some outout regarding machine architecture and installed OS

sorry about your other questions and let it upon others.

Download Sun Explorer data collector from the sunsolve.sun.com site, you'll have that, and much more ... otherwise:
Quote:
number of CPUs
psrinfo | wc -l
Quote:
speed of machine
psrinfo -v | grep operates
Quote:
amount of memory
prtconf | head -2
Quote:
current operating system
cat /etc/release
Quote:
latest patch installed
showrev -p
Quote:
how many bits the machine is
isainfo -b
Quote:
name of the machine the operating system is running on
hostname

if you have a sparc system, try prtdiag -v. That will show you the number of cpus, the amount of ram, machine type, speed of the procs, etc. That command does not exist in x86.

But psrinfo will show you the number of procs (try -v for speeds as well) and prtconf | more should show you amount of ram. uname -a will give you additional info (such as version running)

It does now in OpenSolaris, however still missing useful information.
